I want to book a flight for New York in July or August but I want to know if
there is any concert taking place that period. Is there any music festival taking place that period in town? Is there any internet site that I can check out venues, gigs etc? thanx in advance! konstantinos |

There are tons of shows and festival in New York pretty much all year round, but even more during the summer.
Check out the Village Voice website (www.villagevoice.com), they list almost all the venues and shows within the five boroughs!

check out www.summerstage.org for a list of concerts being held at Central Park's Summerstage (some are free). or go to www.ticketmaster.com and take a look to see who is playing NYC during the time you plan to be here.

Check out www.nycvisit.com
Free outdoor concerts with different TV morning shows, you've got concerts at the plaza and at Bryant Park - but you need to get there really really early to get a good standing place and you may get lucky and get on TV http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3041478/ http://www.bryantpark.org/calendar/gma-concerts.php http://gonyc.about.com/

First, go to the website of the band you are interested in seeing - sometimes they will link you to whoever they are using as a ticket broker. Unfortunately, most tickets are sold by Ticketmaster, who adds on lots of extra "service fees", which usually ends up adding an extra $10 (at least) to the price of each ticket. You should be able to have tickets mailed to you - just be sure to take a look at all of the "mailing" options when you are clicking through to make your purchase (you may have to choose a special delivery). There are also sometimes options to print your ticket immediately (just don't lose that paper!) or pick-up at will-call on the day of the concert (you'll need ID and the credit card you purchased with).
If tickets are sold out, check out the band websites for fan forums to see if anyone has extras. If that doesn't work, go to Craigslist.com (NY)or StubHub.com to see if anyone has extras. Note that many sellers on those sites will be looking to charge a premium, not face-value. Best bet is to try to snag tickets the day they go on-sale, especially for Bon Jovi because they are HUGE in the NYC area and will no doubt sell out.

I think ticketmaster will be the one although I'm kind of confused. I can see different prices (depending the area) for BON JOVI but from what I see I have to wait till april 21st.
On the left side there is AMERICAN EXPRESS card boxes but I dont see any options for other cards, for exable I have a prepaid VISA card so I wonder if on 21st will be able to use that....

This means that the tickets for Bon Jovi will be going on-sale on April 21 at 10:00 a.m. NY time. The American Express information you see is for American Express card holders - they can purchase tickets anytime this week using their AmEx as a "benefit" of having AmEx. Basically they just get earlier access to tickets. But you can use your VISA when tickets go on sale to the general public on April 21. Good luck!
