Hi,

we are two mothers from Finland coming to spend few days in Århus with our two sons and we would like to spend one day in Legoland. We would appreciate your advice for us about how to get easiest there with two kids? We would like to leave Århus in the morning of sat 17th may and come back in the evening before 21:00 (bed time for kids).

Hi Nani

I assume you're looking for public transportation.

You can take the train from Århus St. at 8:02am and arrive at Legoland (Billund) at 10:13am. You must change from train to bus at Vejle St. The train arrives Vejle at 9:24am and bus no. 244 departs at 9:40am. The bus stop is next to the train station (less than 5 minutes walk).

You can also leave from Århus at 7:02am, 9:02am and later.

When going back to Århus the bus (no 907x) departs from Legoland at 16:37 (this time change from bus to train at Vejle). The train from Vejle arrives Århus St. at 18:37. You can also leave Legoland at 18:25 and arrive at Århus at 20:37.

Do you have any idea for the cots of the return ticket for an adult and for a child under 10 years and can it be paid by credit card? Or where I could get this information?

A return ticket (on standard class) for an adult costs 276 DKK. An adult ticket includes up to two children under 12 years.

I think you can pay with international credit card at DSB stations, but not 100% sure.

Do you think we should buy the tickets in advance or can we trust that there are seats left for us four when we just go to the station?

I wouldn't buy the ticket in advance for a trip between Århus and Vejle... but don't hit me if the train is completely booked and you have to stand up all the way ;-)

When are you arriving at Århus? It is possible to book a seat for 20 DKK in advance.
