| Verona | Looking for a campground in Verona Posted: Tue April 15, 2008 08:07 AM UTC
Does anybody know if there is a new campground in Verona? I know that the Romeo and Julietta campsite is closed down, did they probably open a new one? We will be in Verona on October 15th with a group of 13 motorhomes and 26 adults. We could also stay at Lake Garda but the problem there is that the most campgrounds close by the end of September.... Thanks for advises and or ideas

Wow, 13 motorhomes!
Anyway, there is a new camper area close to the center, between Porta palio and the main train station, and right where the freeway arriving from the A22 - Verona Nord enter the town: http://portale.comune.verona.it/nqcontent.cfm?a_id=5866 Address is Via dalla Bona: 37 places available. Sorry i could not find an english page for it Ciao Francesco

Thanks for the info Francesco! I think we parked the motorhomes there last year, went by taxi into town and spend the night on a campground at Lake Garda. That campground will be closed this year on Oct. 15th. Do you know if it is allowed to stay on that parking lot over night? Does the website say something like only open until 19h? And do I understand it right that there is the bus stop for the public bus 62 close to the parking lot? One of these days I have to learn Italian....

Look here, it is translated:
http://www.camperweb.it/aree_attrezzate/sosta_camp No, it's just watched till 7pm, but if they place a dayly price, you can stay overnight there. And, by the way, it is not too long walking to the centre form there. Just go a little north to porta palio, and from there the ancient path of the Postumia roman road will bring you straigth to Piazza Erbe.. the ancient forum! Ciao Francesco
