Concelho de Macau Macau Short Trip
Posted: Tue April 15, 2008 01:00 AM UTC
I will be arriving at Macau Airport at about 1pm then need to take Turbojet to Hong Kong and check-in hotel. I would like to take this opportunity to spend some time in Macau but my time will be very limited and I'm not going to stay in Macau.

Please advise is it possible to go to The Venetian & sightseeing with trolley bag straight from the airport. Can I enter the casino ? Or any other places to recommend. I will have to leave for Hong Kong before the working rush hour.

Any feedback is much appreciated. Thanks

Casinos have bag-check area, because anything like that isn't allowed in the gaming rooms.

Macau egg tart very expensive. Cheaper in HK.

Thanks for the reply. Wandering will it be a hassle to carry around my luggage while visiting the shopping mall as well. I think I'm a bit handicapped by luggage and of course would love to try some Portugese food there if time permits. The shuttle bus provided at airport is really a good option.

You can also take a free shuttle from the Venetian's west entrance directly to the Macau Ferry Terminal for the ferry to Hong Kong with the ferry leaving every half hour. As above, there's a checkin area for luggage and bags at the Venetian so just leave your luggage there BUT take your valuables (money, camera, etc) with you. Tons of shopping at the Venetian but prices are higher so bargains are in town. Restuarants in the Venetian are expensive except for McDonalds.

Best custard tarts are those at Coloane Village.

The Venetian is just about 3 minutes from the airport so it is possible for you to visit it when you get there. And yes, I do think they will let you in with your trolley bag. However, it will be a little inconvenient for you to bring it everywhere you go so you might want to ask the concierge where you can deposit it for the time you are there. The Ferry terminal from venetian is about 15 to 20 minutes away but the ferry ride to Hong Kong is about 2 hours. Working back, if the rush hour in Hongkong is about 5 pm, you should plan on being there by 4:30. less 2 hours of ferry ride, and 30 minutes travel time within macau, that means you have at most 1 hour to stay at the venetian. If you stay there for 30 minutes, you'll have time to see another place, perhaps the St. Paul ruins and the Leal Senado. These places are very near the terminal anyway. Just don't get caught in the shopping area for long or you won't make it to your target time.

#5--are you sure about the ferry from Macau to HK taking 2 hours? Hmm, I've taken it many times and it's usually just a little over an hour.
