| Budapest | Airport Terminal 1 and 2 to the city centre by public transport Posted: Mon April 14, 2008 08:34 PM UTC
Hello all,
I have already been to Budapest twice and from these trips I remember that there are different buses serving the airport terminals from thr Metro terminus Kobanya Kispest. The Repeter bus serves terminals 2A and 2B, whereas bus #93 serves the Terminal 1. Is this still like this? I have heard some rumours that there is now only one bus serving both terminals. Where do I get the latest timetables of these buses? The reason why I am asking is that my friend and I are leaving Budapest from the different terminals. Any help is much appreciated HORSCHECK |

Bus 200 goes from Kőbánya-Kispest metro to both terminals. You can see the timetable at
http://www.bkv.hu/english/busz/200.html I'm making my first visit to BP in July :):)

Oh, yes, thanks. I have just found the info on the website of the airport as well.
I was quite surprised to read that Terminal 1 is now even served by railway from the West Station. Enjoy your first trip to lovely Budapest HORSCHECK

Kőbánya-Kispest should read Kobanya-Kispest.
I should have typed it rather than cut'n'pasting the accents above the letters!

Repter-busz was renumbered as route 200. Actually it has always served T1, but did not call in front of the terminal building for a while. Now it stops behind the taxi rank both directions, so watch out to catch the bus in the right direction. (There are clear displays and bus stop signs showing the direction.)
Bus 200 also serves T2A&2B. Taking bus 93 does not make too much sense, it's an interesting ride, but takes longer. Frequencies are low too, and there is no service Sat afternoon through Sunday night. It serves T1 only. Actually there are plans to curtail it and then it wouldn't even run to the metro terminal but only to a nearby railway station. For T1, it's a good idea to take a train from Nyugati palyaudvar (Western Station), it's a 20-25 minute ride, with train frequencies of 30 minutes during the day and max. 60 minutes early in the morning or late at night. Tickets cost 300 HUF only. All trains in directions Monor, Cegled, Szolnok, Kiskunfelegyhaza, Szeged, Debrecen and Zahony call at Ferihegy, but InterCity trains for Debrecen-Nyiregyhaza require a 500 HUF seat reservation - that's no good deal. There are also 2 suburban bus routes serving T1 (departing from Kobanya-Kispest metro station), and 1 serving T2 (terminating at T1, once a day). There is no night bus service at any terminal, but there are a few trains running to/from Nyugati pu. very late at night and very early in the morning. From T1, Beke ter is a 15 minute walk, where bus 950 stops every 30 minutes through the night.
