| Taormina | Day Trip from Taormina to Reggio di Calabria Posted: Mon April 14, 2008 05:42 PM UTC
I have a day at leisure while staying in Taormina on May 2, 2008. I would like to go from there to Reggio de Calabria to see the Riace Warriors in the Museo Nazionale della Magna Grecia. Can anyone give me an idea how I can arrange this? I'll need transportation from and back to Taormina, and preferably an English-speaking guide at the Museum.
I need an answer before April 21, 2008. Thank you. Delsa |

Hi,
The journewy is easy. You can take a train from Taormina to Reggio di Calabria (journey time - about 2.5 hours incl ferry crossing) Check out www.treitalia.com for timetables. The cost is around 14 Euros each way I don't know the location of the museum, so can't help with transport from the station but somebody else may kick in with more advice.

Hi again,
I've done some research and have the following info for you. Take the train from Taormina to Reggio di Calabria Lido. When you come out of the station at Lido walk across the Piazza Independenza into Via Vollaro and immediately on your left is the Museum. You can organise an English speaking guide on the spot for 35 Euros per person (1 - 10 people). Allow 3.5 hours travelling time in both directions.
