May I know
a) how long time (or how far) the walk take? b) the walk is in Kinabalu Park HQ or need transfer to Timpohon Gate? c) can we walk by own if do not join the Guided Walk? Are there other short and easy trails we can walk without hiring guide? Thank you. |

I did one of them-they go around explaining the flora and fauna. Not sure if you're talking about teh same one, but sounds like it. Took about 45 minutes, easy walk. Just meet up at the ticket counter a few minutes walk from the HQ entry point.
Yeah you can walk on your own, and guides are definitely not necessary, unless you're a botany fan in which case it is probably very interesting. I thought I wasted my $$$ as there were too many people and I'm not too interested in the fine details of botany. There are many trails available for you to walk-no guides necessary-I was running around them by myself when I was as young as 8 and came out alive....

I am happy to know it is unnecessary to join the guided walk, so I can walk around on my own free time.
