| Estado de São Paulo | Sao Paulo Posted: Sun April 13, 2008 01:36 PM UTC
Hello,
I will be in Sao Paulo the 24st of april. We will travel from Sao Paulo to Foz Iguazu. Before making the bus trip to Foz we would like to spend a few days ( 2 - 3 days) near Sao Paulo. We've already visited Sao Paulo several times. Are there nice places to visit in the surroundings of Sao Paulo ( 2 or 3 hours by bus is no problem ) or places to visit on the way from Sao Paulo to Foz ? Thank you . |

If you like little secluded beaches where you won't find many visitors, then Boicucanga would be a nice place to stay and explore its surrounding. You can see some pictures on my page:

I thought of another interesting city to visit - Curitiba. It is in fact on your way from SP to Foz. Just to get the impression:

Oi,
If you like small, quiet cities, I might recommend going to Itu, about 2 hours away by bus (Rod. Barra Funda). It has a beautiful plaza, many, many fine place to eat, and several fine coffee houses for your afternoon break. Itu has many older houses along cobbled streets, as well as small shops staffed with people who seem to always have time to talk with visitors. I agree with Mira about Curitiba. While not exactly on a direct route to Foz, Curitiba lies about 6 hours south of SP. It is a great town with many attractions, such as its Sunday fair at Largo da Ordem, to warrent a stop-over. (Be sure to check out the many local websites for special discounts on hotels in Curitiba!) From Curitiba you will find several bus lines to take you to Foz when you are ready to leave. Boa viagem!
