| Cyprus | Taxi and public transportation in Cyprus Posted: Sun April 13, 2008 11:33 AM UTC
Approx how much would a taxi on the following legs cost
a) Larnaca - Limassol b) Limassol - Paphos c) Paphos - Larnaca How about shared taxis? Are they reliable and easy to locate? Finally the buses; I read somewhere that they don't go on Sunday. Do this also apply to intercity buses? In general: are intercity buses on the beforementioned routes frequent and fast? thanks in advance :-) |

Buses: NO buses on Sundays, including "intercity". As to whether frequent and fast, it depends from where to where but I would say in general, "no", you will be lucky if they run hourly. See http://cyprus.angloinfo.com/information/10/busses.asp.
Information on taxis is there also, you could ask for a quote from one of the companies on http://cyprus.angloinfo.com/af/312/cyprus-taxi-shu Shared/service taxis are operated by specific companies and terminal is outside their offices, I'm sure your hotel will be able to direct you but in Limassol these are: Akis Express, 21 Thessaloniki St., tel. 25 362 061 Kypros Company, 49 Spyrou Araouzou St., tel. 25 363 979. Limassol-Paphos takes about 45 minutes but I can't remember price. From Paphos these are run by Karydas and Kypros taxi Companies. Although not very up-to-date, there is also some useful information on http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel/Europe/Cyprus

Bus services on Cyprus are not especially frequent or convenient, apart from those within individual towns.
You might do better to consider hiring a car for your stay, if this is possible and you can cope with driving on the left. Relying on buses to see the island will limit what you can see, and using taxis won't be particularly cheap.
