Hi Alex!
You can go to Dresden for a day from Prague (Czech: Praha) according to the website http://jizdnirady.idnes.cz/connform.asp?tt=a&cl=E5&p=MF

You can take a train from Prague to Dresden. Ticket costs 40,80 EUR return per person on direct EC trains.

But if you don't mind changing trains at Decin hl.n. and Bad Schandau, you can do this trip much much cheaper. Just buy a domestic ticket from Prague to Decin hl.n. (boarder station), this costs 442 CZK (18 eur)for two people return. The more people go, the lower the price. From Decin to Dresden you use "REGIONET LABE-ELBE" ticket which costs 400 CZK and is valid for 2 to 5 people on one day on trains, buses or trams in the region (also icludes city transport Dresden). That means if there's a group of five people going Prague-Dresden, they pay only 10 euros per person for return day ticket! You can buy the REGIONET and domestic ticket to Decin at train station in Prague. But note the RESTRICTIONS: you CANNOT use REGIONET on EuroCity trains between Decin and Dresden! You can use any train between Prague and Decin, but you need to use regional trains between Decin and Dresden, these trains are marked: Os, RB, S, RE, IRE. It's no problem to manage this trip during one day even including train changes and slower ride using cheaper ticket. I know this sounds complicated, but you really save!
