How could I get to Karls. from Trento or Bolzano by train? Have I to go to Munich first and then take another train to Karls.?

lists the alternatives (and fares for some, surprisingly). The faster trains change at Munich, but the slower ones (with more changes) change elsewhere.

I checked this route in the reverse way two years ago.Karlsruhe is not far from Mannheim, where I live.When I was going to Bressanone I found the route via Munich worked the best for me.
Another possibility would be to take the night train from Milano to Mannheim, then on to Karlsruhe.
