We are going to Dubrovnik in August and would like to visit Corfu for 3 or so days. I gather there is not air link and that you still have to go to Italy to make a ferry connection.

How long would it take to drive there along the coast? How many days if we wanted to see Kotar, Butrint and other scenic spots along the way? Is it easy to cross all those borders--Croatia, Montenegro, Albania into Greece?

It depends of how much you visit !. In 2007, we drove from Igoumenitsa to Dubrovnik in 5 days but did a lot of visits. Without any visit (which would be a shame!), I feel that 2 days would be enough.

The only border that take some time is the Albanian border. If there is no waiting time (in August, I am afraid there might be some), allow 15-20 min.

There is a ferry connection between Saranda and Corfu.

www.viamichelin.com is a great site for planning any (car) trip. Put destinations in and it'll calculate the best possible route and give you time and petrol, etc. If you wanna fly check the site of Dubrovnik airport or a European search engine (for low cost flights) as more and more low cost airlines or charters are flying to Croatia, especially in the summer. As for the borders, there's been a change in exiting Croatia& entering Montenegro; there shouldn't be problems just be prepared to wait a little longer on the border.
