Hey everyone,
I'll be studying Arabic at Damascus University in about a month (I'll arrive on 20 May) and I need to start thinking about finding an apartment. I'm sure I will be staying in a hotel until I find a place, but I've got a few questions: How difficult will it be to find a suitable furnished apartment near Damascus University? How much should I look to spend in rent? Can anyone recommend a real estate agent? Thanks! |

I believe arabesk can help you find an apartmen.You and other 1000 students are always looking for apartments.If you need a few days when you first arrive to stay to help you find your way around Damas and meet other students (hundreds of them walking around Bab Touma may be they can assist you find apartment).try damascushostel in the old city for a short stay.

Thanks! I've contacted Arabesk and they seem to be very friendly and helpful. I'm certain that they'll be able to help me find accommodations, and they've also offered to help me get registered at Damascus University as well as to help me get an iqaama.
I appreciate your help.

Hey man, I am going to study there as well for 2 months. I'm going to use Damascus Hostel for a couple of weeks, hopefully, and then try to find a place on my own.

I am also going to study at the University for two months and arrive June 17th and will be looking for a short term apartment. I hope to get a hostel the first couple nights. Would anyone recommend a homestay?

hey did you go with arabesk?
i don't know but it seems like they charge a lot for what they do (go with you to immigration, go with you to damascus university). they do seem nice though.
