Forum Question Posted By: Replies:
Venice Vaporetto's Prices
Posted: Fri April 11, 2008 07:07 PM UTC
Hello!

My boyfriend and I are thinking about going to Venice in early May, and we're trying to find a hotel that we can afford... We found one at Lido, which seems to be nice, though quite basic, and the price is 60euros per night.

Our question is, how much does it cost the vaporetto to get to Venice? We would only have to use it twice, since we're spending just one night there.

Also, does anybody know how much does it cost the train from Treviso airport to Venice? And how long does the journey take?

Thank you for your help!

Rita

i think the price is 5 euro per person one way - but i am sure someone else will come along and tell you for sure
the price has gone up since we were there
the journey takes maybe 20 minutes - maybe a little more

Ciao Rita.

Prova a vedere sul sito delle ferrovie italiane; www.trenitalia.com. Tieni presente che la stazione di Venezia si chiama "Venezia Santa Lucia". "Venezia-Mestre" è la stazione precedente quella di Venezia Santa Lucia.

hi just back from lido. it costs 6.50 euro for a journey, when u stamp the ticket it lasts 60mins.u would be better buying a 24 hour ticket it costs 16 euro and lasts 24hours from when u first stamp it and u can jump on the buses on lido with it, this way would save u money it costs far more buying single journeys. do not buy tickets on the transport there is an extra charge.i was on lido from 3rd to 6th april touched lucky with weather it was fab.find out how far that hotel is from waterbus stop. as lido is bigger than u might think, from my hotel on the beach side of lido, would have been a 20 25 min walk to water bus,so u can use ur ticket for boat also for busses on lido

There are buses from Treviso airport:

http://www.atvo.it/eng/airport.php?ld=index_euro_tv.php&id=0&var=t

Takes about 1 hour 10 (depends on traffic, obviously). Get your ticket at the ATVO office in arrivals (and validate before getting on the bus).

http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html will give you train times and fares, journey takes around 30 - 40 minutes from Treviso Centrale.

Bus will probably be the quicker option, because you won't need to go into Treviso itself first.

Ciao Rita

Leics - what a surprise ;-) - already gave you the best advice. from the Treviso airport to venice (Piazzale Roma for a Bus) the bus is the best option. A little slower but direct.

Consider a 24 hours ticket in venice, expecially if you have to take a land bus on Lido, because they are operated by the same company (the mentioned ACTV) as the vaporettos, and included in day (or multiday) tickets.

Enjoy Venice!
Francesco
