I've read reviews on two, Ghazal Hotel and Sultan Hotel, both budget hotels for backpackers and travellers on a budget!! I've got the email for Ghazal and made enquiries but only telephone number for Sultan, expensive for me to call from Istanbul, does anyone know the hotel(s), and/or have email for Sultan?? thanks everyone. I'm travelling in May and will be arriving Damascus via Allepo.
Georgie p.s. any other tips on hotels and tours there would be great |

HI try alharmein hotel or Asaada hotel budget and next to gazal and better .Or if you need a single room in the old city i have a house and rent to guests from Eu and rent rooms at budget price email me and i give you details.

Hmmmm...even i wanaa know any budget hotel in damascus...but someone was saying that hotels in the Old city of damascus is cheaper!

Hi Suhail hotels outside the old city are many and cheaper some .Hotels in the old city are expensive called hotels de charm(boutique hotels just google talisman,beitalmamlouka daralyasmin etc they are top and middle range the budget one in the old city like damascushostel.Stayind in the old city you dont need to take a taxi cos all tourist attractions other than the National Meuseum are in the OLD CITY within walking distance.
