| Brussels | accomodation Posted: Fri April 11, 2008 11:53 AM UTC
At the end of may I'll be in Brussell for an exchange between Bologna and Brussell about Zinneke Parade that it will be the last may saturday!
I'm looking for a good accomodation in a central location cause all the Zinneke appointement are in this area...last time I was in a good youth hostel (Jaques Breil) but in this period there are a lot of school trips and the noise during the night was incredible ( a party in the room next mine til 5 o'clock)....I'd like a b&b or similar....do u have any suggestions? Thanks Simona |

We loved the Hotel Welcome which bills itself as the smallest hotel in Brussels. It is well located, breakfast is included and you should be able to get a room for 100-120 Euros depending on the size and season. You can check it out at http://www.brusselshotel.travel/index.php

Actually I believe the smallest hotel in Brussels is currently the Vieille Lanterne, by the Mannekin Pis, which has only 6 rooms. The Welcome WAS the smallest when it opened, since it only had 4 rooms at that time, but now its website explicitly states that it no longer has this status. With 16 rooms it is not much smaller than the Monty (18) or the Albergo (17), and is bigger than the Orts, Royal and St. Michel (all 14), Café Pacific (13), the Neufchatel (12), the Abberdeen (sic!) and the B&B Botanique (both 11): http://www.booking.com/hotel/be/b-b-botanique.html
Of course, B&Bs are generally not in the centre but Brussels is a relatively small city, it really isn't hard to get to the centre on public transport and the Zinneke parade takes place during the day anyway. This one is not far from metro station Albert: http://www.travel-library.com/b&b/europe/belgi For other B&Bs look on www.bnb-brussels.be/ or www.bedandbreakfast.com/brussels-belgium.html.

Thanks for your infos....I know the link u add to reply, but I haven't find something I liked for this period...I have to spend 4 days and during these day we have to do a lot of thing during the day and the nights for the parade...last time some friends give me 2 bikes and was perfect to run from zineke laboratories to another....we are there not only for pleasure but also for work....J breil hostel was cheap, very cleen and we have a double room with bathroom all for us for only 35 euros....noisy but cheep....I found a special price with a Ibis hotel (St Chaterin) in the center for only 57 euros per night for a double...do u know it?
Last chance is a b&b named Zinneke, the owner is a man fo the zinneke parade....someone have infos? Brusells is nice and we are so happy to share again this experience with our belgian friends and our italian groupe...let's go to see Zinneke!

Yes Ibis Hotel in Ste. Catherine should do you fine, it's part of a chain but very central being next to the Ste. Catherine metro station (actually just a block away from the Welcome Hotel) and around the corner from the Place Ste. Catherine where one of the "Zinnepoles" as they call the different local groups gathers before the Zinneke parade, in front of the church.

Ste. Catherine is a very nice area. Good restaurants in the neighborhood. Near to the Grand Place etc.
