Hello friends

It is honour to answer your your kind question, surely the small issue, which was in Lahij and Dhala provinces, was solved. Moreover, the safety situation in Yemen is really safe, Yemen is tranquil.

Actually, nowadays there are a lot of tourists who are touring around yemen peacefully, and also there is nothing to be concerned about.

Gladly, Yemen and its people welcome you any time you would like to come.

I will be so happy to answer and inform you about any questions that need to be clarified.

Regards

Compared to Orlando, Fl no it is not as safe but at least in Yemen your brain wont rot after seeing all the cheesy tourist attractions. The govt does a good if not too good of a job of restricting access to places where tourist might be harmed. Check out the Yemeni Times online. They do a decent job of reporting what's going on and go into a bit more depth when it comes to something like the grenade attack on the school next to the US Embassy. I read all the travel warnings once and postphoned my trip a few months. I ended up regretting it since when I did go, Shaharah was closed due to the tribal issues in the north. Sanaa like most Arabic cities tends to be far safer than their western counterparts. Enjoy your trip.

I am yemeni guide and I live side the country so, I know every tiny and big yemeni news which are expanded around. Really, Yemen is as safe as your home.

Sorry to say that, there are impolite poeple who always enjoy changing the realities, moreover, they put their noses in every thing around the world. That lower groups of people live in gossip case, and they try to dirt the clean things but surely the are not able to be successful. However, there good mass media , there are bad, too. Do not believe what some haters said.

Yemen is there and easily every one can check the right news by himself.

I hope peaceful for all world

I travelled there in November 2007 on a group tour and our Yemeni tour company took lots of precautions to make sure we were as safe as possible. We travelled in 4 wheel drive vehicles outside of Sana'a as a mini bus is conspicious, and we had police escorts on certain roads. I can understand your concerns about safety with the killing of the Spanish tourists last May and the Belgians in January - there is a small risk. However, you are much safer in a small group and with a reputable Yemeni tour company who take safety seriously. Two of you should have no reason to worry.
Enjoy your trip - it is a country well worth visiting! See my Yemen pages for places I visited.

Its very safe. Your tour operator will only take you in areas they have a permit. The level of strret crime = o. Terrorism towards tourists = o.

There are tribal disputes, but you will not be travelling in those areas at all.

Have a great holiday and take lots of photos!
