Hi i really want to go here when I spend a day in funchal. but i having trouble locating it from where the cruise ship docks.

Walk to the other end of Funchal where the cable car is and it is just up the street from there. As you are probably taking the cable car anyway up to the toboggan rides, no problem.

From the harbour you turn right along the coast eastwards in the direction of the Sao Tiago Fort. You pass the marina and pier and walk along the boulevard (Avenida do Mar) another 400 meter. After passing the Praza da Autonomia you go about three blocks from the boulevard inland (200 m) along the Profetas and you will see the market at your right hand side.
