I would love to go out and walk the cliffs at Makara again.

I have searched Metlink Wellington but it tells me there is no public transport out there.

Anyone know if there is a small local bus or something?

well i do now, but i've only been here for maybe 12 days after 25 years away

anyway, i could have lived in a place for 40 years and still not know something about where i live

I think you need a car to get to Makara Beach. Reminds me of an extremely difficult search on my first NZ trip. Makara Beach was really near the end of the world ;-)

thanks for that - so when i go it just won't look the same as it used to

i wil have to talk a friend or relative into taking me

it is not that far from wellington - not remote at all

i see there are school buses - i often used to catch the school bus in wingello

but here they will be the wrong way round

leaving from makara in the morning and returning at night

oh and that man he got a bit cheeky and got wiped - probably got cheeky to several people

LOL Yes, I have been to Makara Beach.

We had seen a photo in a book and absolutely had to go there - but it was not indicated on the highway, and our map was not very accurate. So we got the wrong exit several times, and criss-crossed all places from Tawa to Johnsonville and I do not remember what LOL But finally we got there, and also into this horse breeding valley, Ohiriu or so...

Have not made a page about your old stamping ground... Too lazy to scan photos from the good old days... (Will do it at some point... although other examples prove that I rather I re-visit a place than to scan photos LOL) But only a day or two until I can publish Wellington, just some more photos to work on...
