Have a stop in Tunis on my Costa cruise - would rather do it on my own than join a tour - any ideas? Is it easy to get around, what should I see?

If it's just for a day, then when you arrive in La Goulette, jump onto the metro (TGM) and go to Carthage and then Sidi Bou Said, which are very close and the ticket is very cheap. If you have more time then you can take the same metro the opposite direction to Tunis-downtown. I wouldn't recommend taking the metro alone though at night.
