Will be at a meeting at the Convention Center at Mount Vernon Place. Are either the Capital Hilton at 1001 16th St NW or Four points Sheraton at 1201 K Street NW within walking distance of the convention center? If so, which is closer?

The Sheraton is closer and in walking distance. However, there is a Hilton at 6th Street that is even closer.

Neither is particularly close, unless you're fond of walking.
Go here: http://www.dcconvention.com/, click on "Neighborhood Retail," and then follow the "Hotels" link. A number of them (mostly chains) have sprung up in the area, but there are a few older ones in the vicinity.
