| Venice | Train Venice to Rome -- No morning routes??? Posted: Thu April 10, 2008 04:28 PM UTC
Hello,
I am looking to travel July 10th from Venice to Rome. Today is 3 months prior to the trip, however there is only two trains on raileurope, and both wont get to Rome until 7pm!! I need to get a early morning train and cannot find one. Trenitalia did not have one as it is not 60 days prior, but I checked a train on a similar day a few weeks before and it stated the only train left the next day (it had the * next to the time). If anybody has any information on how to get a early train to Rome on July 10th, I would sure appreciate it! Thank you, Rick. |

Hi,
you won't be able to access the July timetables for a few weeks, but don't despair. Trains run roughly every hour from Venice to Rome, and there are plenty of morning srvices. Leave it a few weeks then go back into the trenitalia site and you will be able to check timetables and book at the same time.

If you want to reassure yourself further, look at
http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html and put in tomorrow's date. There are indeed trains roughly every hour, from 03.11 onwards. This is unlikely to change much, so you'll be fine.

Thank you all for your responses. I will hold off on purchasing until more times are scheduled.
Thanks again, Rick.

Yep, there's a database update scheduled around June 10th or so, so online schedules after that point will be iffy until we get closer to the date...but as someone noted, schedules don't change all that much...

Youcan catch a EuroStar from Venice Santa Lucia at 6.43am which will get you into Roma Termini at 11.08am with no changes. Just buy your ticket and reserve a seat in Venice the day before so that you don't have to stand on the queue at that hour of the morning.
