Just updating my previous request for assistance.......Does anyone know if I can hire a Motorhome in Crete.If I could even borrow one for a few weeks in Sept i would be more than grateful !!

I'm afraid you can not find a motorhome for rent in crete. Anyway try some RENT A CAR office in Crete. In case you need any other assistance, just mail me.

You can rent it in Greece (main land) or Italy and take a ferry ride to Crete.
