Did anybody recently make the trip by train from Trieste to Vienna? Is it a direct connection? Where can I find time-tables?

The train from Triests to Vienna usually has one change in Udine, where you change from the Regional to the EuroCity. The duration of the entire journey is about 7and a half - 8 hours. There are several trains daily, but some can take a lot longer depending on what train it is. Probably the most convenient would be the one that leaves Trieste at 9.04am and arrives in Vienna at about 5pm. You can get a good idea of trains and times from the OBB website.
