Hi VTs

Do you know what would be a fair taxi fare from Lima's Jorge Chavez International Airport to Lima's San Isidro district? The hotel where we plan to stay has quoted us USD20 and I just wanted to know if this is a good price.

Hey ,

You can get a prepaid cab at the airport or a shuttle for probably less than half that.The service is ligit and is set up as u leave the arrival area.There are also touts hanging out the front of the airport but be careful...

If you've never been to Lima before I think you should accept the offer of your hotel which is reasonable for that type of service. When leaving the arrivals area it can be hectic and overwhelming.

I agree with the tip above. It is very hectic outside the airport and $20 is reasonable.
If you do not want to use the taxi offered by your hotel (or it does not turn up, it happens) then I would advise using the taxi service inside the terminal. They have clear and fixed price to the popular destination of Lima and they are safe.
Taxis outside the terminal can be safe too but you could also end up getting mugged! Best to stick with slightly more expensive official taxis or the one booked by your hotel!

Thank you all for your replies. I will stick with the hotel's option. I've never been to Peru or Latin America before so I just wanted to make sure the price is fair.

price is ok, i dont know for stars which offeer, taxi is about 5 usd, but san insidro is the richest famous part of lima when you say drive me there they will say biger price...but all to 10 us is ok..
have a plasant stay regular taxi use only..
