We had an excellent lunch in the Trattoria Cafe Vecio, at the upper end of the main square. I can really recommend this restaurant. For more details check my Venice page, the restaurant tip section.

Another(and our favourite)is Trattoria Galuppi. It seems to have attracted some bad reviews, which I do not understand.
We have always had excellent meals at reasonable prices with friendly service

I would recommend one of my favorite restaurants EVER. Al Gatto Nero. This restaurant is amazing. Funny enough it is my accountants favorite restaurant in Italy, as well as my boyfriend old boss's. I loved the monk fish. They have great fish dishes!!!! I think Samantha Brown did a segment on this restaurant also. I highly recommend it.
