Berlin How far is Berlin from Warnemunde
Posted: Tue April 8, 2008 04:53 PM UTC
When we dock in Warnemunde in May, we would like to take public transport to Berlin. How many hours and what is the best way to take, train, bus etc.
We only have about 9 hours in Warnemunde before the ship leaves. What can we do.

I don't think it will be worth your while: the train journey is around 3- 4 hours (depending on train). Berlin is a fair distance from Warnemunde.

But if you want to explore your options look at:

which will give you train times and fares.

I was looking at a Norwegian Cruise line cruise next May, with a similiar itinerary. If you go to NCL.com and pull up the shore excursions, you will see many ideas for this port, including trips to Berlin. I think you could independently duplicate these if you wanted to, either using a taxi locally or taking the train to Berlin. Hope this helps-

You really need to bite the bullet on this one and pay for the ships excursion to Berlin. The drive is not bad by motor coach and you will have the most time in Berlin this way. I cruise frequently and I hate to pay for the excursions as much as anybody, but in this port it really makes a lot of sense as the port is quite a distance from Berlin and the trains that go there are not fast.

You absolutely must visit Berlin when you are at this port. You will regret it if you don't
