Hi there,
I plan to drop by Toronto after my biz trip in Montreal. Hence, will be there hopefully from Mar 3rd till 5th. 1) Any cheap hotels less than CND$ 100? preferably in city centre n is public transport friendly 2) What are the things that I shouldn't miss? 3) Do you have hop-on-tour-buses in Toronto - like those in europe? If yes, how much? 4) What's the best way to get to niagra falls? Is it better to get to niagra falls from montreal or toronto? Which journey has a better view? Couch? Train? Thanks a bunch! |

3. There are Hippo Tours - an amphibious vehicle that does a tour of the downtown and harbour area. Can't remember how much but they are on line.
4. Toronto is nearer. There are lots of day tours from Toronto.

Hi,
Just back from Toronto myself - great place. Strathcona hotel is a mid range hotel, and if you book online you will def get it within your budget. The hotel is located in downtown Toronto within 10mins walking distance of CN Tower (ITS S MUST! awesome views over the city - even as far as Niagra if the weather is good), St Rogers Stadium etc. Great location, with access to Union subway station also just over the road - access it through the Royal York hotel foyer opposite. With regard to public transport - your best bet is the subway. Its efficient and simple to use. Reasonably priced to. Toronto Transport Commission (TTC) offer all day passes for CND$9 - this lets you on buses, trams (IM british - they call them street cars!) and Subway trains. They do have hop on hop off tours of Toronto, but we didnt use it so unsure of price. However for CND$60 you can get a city pass that includes entry to 6 attractions - the CN tower, Science Museum, Hockey Hall of Fame, Casa Lova (go there!), Zoo and Royal Ontario Museum. This ticket is excellent value for money, even if you only intend to visit a couple of the above. Enjoy your visit!

Answer to (4) : If you take the Chinese casino bus from Toronto to Niagara Falls, you can get there for only $5 ! It is Safeway Tours, and they leave from various points in Toronto, and drop you at a casino in Niagara Falls, very close to the Falls themselves. It costs $30, but you get a $25 voucher for the casino, which you can just cash in and then leave. The regular buses cost about $55 each way, and leave you at the bus station, which is a fair way away from the Falls.
