Hello dear Netherland VT mates.

While next weekend we will be there in Keukenhof , we really wonder if flowers are already bloomed in the area , or we will do a looooong way from Greece to be disappointed ? :) :)


And something else : some people say take your ticket to Keukenhof through their web page to avoid big lines of waiting people.
IS THIS TRUE ?

Hi! I visited Keukenhof just 5 days (25 March) after it opened this year. There are plenty of flowers to see in the pavilions and tubs - those planted directly in the ground were a mixture of some in bloom and some barely above the ground. Given the weather here in the UK - I doubt they will have progressed much more but there are still plenty to see as there are early and late flowering varieties. And certainly Willem Alexander pavilion had lots of tulips in full bloom. Oranje Nassau had lots of different cut flowers which were gorgeous and filled the pavilion with scent. Yes, you might be a little disappointed in that it will not be a full display but I doubt that anyone going much before late April would get a full display unless it was an incredibly mild winter/spring - and its been quite the opposite this year.

With regards the ticket, you can purchase this at the Tourist Information office directly outside Centraal Station in Amsterdam (with transport options available as well).

If you take the bus + Keukenhof option, you will get bus 370 from Leidseplein. The bus stop is the first one in the middle of the bridge over the canal, the bus stop shows the timetable for the 370. You take this to Schiphol and change there onto another bus (50 or 58?) to Keukenhof. Its pretty easy, once you know where the first bus stop is in Leidseplein. The total journey via bus is around 45 minutes.

Flowers bloomed everywhere, wheather was fine and sunny, but cold was enough...

But anyway the trip really worth it!

Was absolutely fantastic, espesially the rural Holland (keukenhof, zaanche shancs, Volendam).

We keep best memories from there.
