Good Day Amegos!
We are planning our honeymoon for 25 days across 7 Europian Cities. The cities are:
(Germany: Munich)
(Austaria: Zell Am See, Salzburg & Vieena)
(France: Paris & Strasborg)
(Italy: Venice)
I coldn't make up my mind about the route we best follow for this trip for the the most effective, cost saving, enjoyable & less trouble & tyring route. I have different scenarios & plans in mind. it's our first time in Europe. I got experience in traveling in America, Canada, Asia & Arabia & unfortnately no any idea about europe.
Kindly, Would you please help me & suggest to sort out this matter?

here's my plans.
Plan A:
Paln A Summury: (Road Trip: Munich - Zell Am See - Salzburg - Vienaa)& Fly to Venice & then Fly to Paris. Travel by train taking CNL to Strasburg & return to Paris.

Plan A Details:
Arive @ Munich & stay 3 nights
Hire a car from Munich & Drive to Zell Am See & stay there for 5 nights
Drive to Salzburg & stay for 3 Nights
Drive To vienna & stay for 3 nights & return the car rental.
Fly to Venice on a low cost airline, say, EasyJet & stay in Venice for 3 nights.
Fly to Paris on a low cost airlines and stay for 3 nights
then, take CNL train to strasbourg & stay there for 2 nights. After that get back to Paris & stay there for 3 nights. Finally fly to home sweet home Stopping over by Dubai for a night & then to my lovely citiy Dammam.

I would be thankful for taking the trouble for ging thru this lenghty Q.

1) i think, hiring a car in munich and giving back in vienna is very expensive (2 countries) maybe go by train to salzburg, its just 1 hour max.

2) at which time will you do your journey? in june we are nearly sold out in vienna (from 8.-29.6.08) because of the UEFA EURO 2008. and at the end of august it often gets a bit cold in austria/germany (15 degrees)...

3) just 3 days for vienna is a bit stressful, it is a lot to see ;) Maybe if the weather in Zell am See is bad, you can switch 1 or 2 days ...

thats what comes to my mind first ;)

I'd consider going by train between Munich and Vienna. Train services are excellent and not that expensive. You can of course combine with bus when needed. Austria is used to handle tourists, so all the major places on should visit are covered well by public transportation. Personally I think you have quite many nights in Zell am See, I'd probably reduce them to 3 and rather spend 5 nights in Vienna. I know I'm biased but Vienna is indeed a romantic city and it has absolutely great opportunities. Instead of flying to Venice, why not take the train, for example the night train?

As it has already been pointed out, June will be crazy in all the EURO2008 citites. Apart from that you're fine. Just bear in mind that July/August are far from chilly, September is fine as long as you're prepared to wear a bit more than just T-shirts.

First of all conratulations - hope you guys have a wonderful wedding ! Besides, quite some romantic spots you chose for your honeymoon - good job ;-)

A few remarks for your itinerary:

- rather spend more time in Munich or Vienna than in Zell am See - loads to see in both cities, Zell is way smaller.

- Consider train connections between cities. You might be able to get some good deals if you book ahead.

- The no-frills airlines you should check for travelling Europe are Germanwings, Ryanair, hlx.com and possibly easyjet. But also check the major national airlines of the respective country - Lufthansa, Austrian and Air France often have 99€ offers within Europe (limited contingent though!)

Enjoy your trip & rate my answer positive,

cheers

I 'll strive to make this honeeymoon the best holiday I 've made ever & I 'll make

1/
I made up my mind to rent a car in the Austarian lands. I think I'll rent it in Zell Am See & Give it back as soon as I get in Vienna.

2/
I decided based on my dear VT's wise opinions not to stay very long in Zell Am See for a 5 nights. I think I 'll stay for 3 or 4 nights. When Stayiing Zell Am See, I 'll enjoy a variety of things to do like: going to Kaprun Glacier, para glade, ride the small plane, other adventures ... etc.

3/
Do you suggest a lovely & romantic city or town to travel that is close to Venice I can reach easily by train or by renting a car & I can return back to Venice in order to travel to my next destination whcih is Vienna either by train or by airlines with no any hassle ??

you're kidding, arent you?
venice, paris and vienna ARE the very lovely & romantic cities ;))

but if you REALLY want another city ... take the train to Treviso ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treviso

But if you are there all ready ... treviso has an airport for cheap flights, than you better fly back to vienna. www.skyeurope.com
