The Hotel Helia is especially suited for conferences and is also well equipped for business travellers.
Location The spa and conference Hotel Helia is situated on the embankment of the River Danube with views on the Buda Hills and Margaret Island (Margitsziget). The Hotel is located in the heart of the city, surrounded by a park. Most rooms overlook a lovely, refreshing park and the river. The hotel is within easy reach from the city centre with good access to public transport. general info: The four-star Danubius Health Spa Resort Helia spa, wellness and conference hotel, built in Scandinavian style, was opened in 1990 and last renovated in 2006. Natural thermal water is pumped to the hotel spa from springs on the nearby Margaret Island, which is famous in Budapest for its high quality medical and relaxation services.

The Danubius Health Spa Resort Helia (former Thermal & Conference Hotel Helia) is out of the city centre, but it has good transport connections to the centre. The stop of trolley bus 79 and the nearest blue line Metro station may be reached by just about 2 - 3 minutes walk.
The weather in mid May is generaly very fine, average temperature 20 - 22 Cgrad, and a lot of sunshine. Here the site in order to check the hotel http://www.danubiushotels.com/en/budapest-hotels/d Greetings.

I would add that, even though it's a good location and not far from the center, there could be better options in the same price range.
If you are sightseeing for just a couple of days its not the same to be 20 min from the center or in the center ;) Take a look at the Ibis Central or even, close to the Helia, though not at the Danube: the Ibis Volga, which is directly on a metro line, so you will be able to reach the center in 10 min. There is also the NH Hotel, and actually quite a couple of other ones...:) Weather: usually nice temperatures, rain might be expected in some days.
