How long does it take to get from Miraflores to lets say Plaza de Armas,the center of lima by taxi?and the typical cost?thanks!

My "guess-timate" is somewhere around $5-6 dollars. I took the tour bus to get to Plaza de Armas, so the cost structure for me was different. Note: taxi cost from Miraflores to the airport is $12/OW. Goodluck!

We were there in January and it took about 30 minutes to get from Miraflores to the Plaza. The traffic can be terrible so do try to avoid rush hour. It seems like we paid 20 soles for the two of us which is 6-7 US. Be sure to agree on the price first because they do not use meters in the cabs. The cab driver had me put my camera away for the ride but we had no problems.

Note: Taxi drivers in Lima are pretty good, you can definitely bargain w/ them & if you speak Spanish, the better! I've heard from a friend in Lima that cab fare from Miraflores to the Plaza de Armas is really around $3! I just put $5-$6 because they seem to quote foreigners like us a higher rate. I suggest you haggle w/ them (gives you more credibility in their eyes) for the fare & don't pay any more than these quoted prices.

I have just returned from Peru,and taxi fare can be 10 soles or $3.50 and it will take you 25-30 mins.Enjoy Lima,it is a great city
