Beijing Travel Forum

Just wondering if any one can help me find a guide for a few days for beijing. There are 5 of us arriving on Friday the 11th, and we'd love to have someone to show us the sights! Can anyone recommend an internet sight to meet one? We'll be doing the regular tourist stops...including a few days of shopping and recommendations on eating out at night....or perhaps we dont need one? what do you think?

Hi. Our party of 5 just got back from a 9 day stay in Beijing. We hired a driver/guide that was recommended from a VTer and he was great. Our party of 5 speak little to zero Chinese so it was nice having him translate for us. We hired him for the roundtrip airport transfer, the Great Wall, and a day trip to Cuandixia. He's very flexible and also volunteer to drive us to Tea City, the Calligraphy street, and some of the malls that we wanted to visit on his off day. He's very flexible and willing to go where ever we want. His car is comfortable and a newer Buick model. He's very punctual and extremely easy going. Our trip was very enjoyable because of him. I highly recommended him. His name is Konglin and he was super. Email me if you want his email. We negotiated with him via email and paid him half after our Great Wall trip and the rest after he dropped us off at the airport. He's very trustworthy. His price is low, too.

Can we please have the e-mail details of your tour guide whilst you were in Beijing, he sounds really good.
My twelve year old son & I will be in Beijing from August 5 to August 15 & will be visiting some Olympic events but certainly want to see as much of Beijing as possible, arrange airport transfers & also organise a day trip ( same day ) down to Xian to see the Terracotta warriors & come back to Beijing.
