Can anyone tell me is the Aparthotel 5 in a convenient location? We have 3 nights only and want to stay in an area close to the metro etc if not center of town . Also how much would we expect to pay for a taxi from the airport .
Thanks Anita |

The hotel is not in the central part of Old Prague but you should be able to get around on the excellent public transportation system there. It is also near Vysehrad, the old and lovely 11th Century stronghold overlooking the city. Taxi fare to or from the airport should be in the 30-35 US dollar range. Have a wonderful time in this most lovely city.

Hi,
Do you mean "Aparthotel City 5", Vltavska street? If yes, it is around 100 - 150 m from metro "Andel". Unless you have extremely large luggage or mobility problems I suggest to take form airport bus N 100 (15 minutes trip) and then metro B to the station "Andel" (around 25 min). That will cost 26 CZK per person. Taxi should cost around 500 CZK (around 31 USD or 20 EUR at present exchange rate). The area has excellent connection to the city center and places of tourist interest (Vysehrad, Charles bridge, Castle) - metro and many tram lines are meeting here (also 3 night lines) - around 10 - 15 minutes trip to most places. Supermarket and hypermarket nearby.

I ended up booking with Barcelo Praha Hotel , it looks like a nicer hotel. It's a 15 min tram ride to the city center but is only $76.00 Canadian .
Does anyone know it?

This hotel is in a residential area further from the center compared with previously mentioned hotel. You might have great view if your window faces old city and the Vltava river.
There are no trams in that area. Metro line C has "Pankrac" stop around 750 m away (2-3 stops using bus N 193, 8-10 minutes intervals during the day, 15-20 min. in the evening). Then it is 4 stops (10 minutes) by metro to Wenceslas square. Taxi from airport should cost around 600 CZK.
