Lloret de Mar Duty Free allowance

This might be a daft question, but can two people travelling together put thier allowance (obviously weight permitting) in one suitcase? Or does an individual have to personally carry their own?

http://www.heathrow-airport-guide.co.uk/dutyfree.html is a helpful guide to what you can bring back.

Although I can't find a specific link indicating that there is any specific regulation, it would be sensible to only carry one's own in case one is stopped by customs. The allowance is only for one's own use; carrying too much might suggest a smuggling attempt and draw attention from customs.

Anyway, it makes more sense weight-wise to distribute stuff between 2 cases.

It did. And there isn't one, as such.

But there are limits as to how many fags/how much booze etc you can bring back, otherwise they suspect you of smuggling (and there is an awful lot of that going on).

Well I've been on cross-channel ferries next to guys with say 7500 fags in a carrier bag "for personal use". But that's all duty-paid. And they get off take it to their car, then get back onto the next boat out. Four or five round trips a day makes a big profit. Unless they really are for personal use...

But no duty-free as such, not for European travellers.

Thanks for the replies. You are right in saying there is no limit for inside the EU, they are just saying it is questionable if you exceed certain amounts for personal use. I just can't find anything saynig you have to carry your own. The airline we use charge £10 per case, I know I can fit what I want to bring in one case, so I can't see the point in paying £10 I dont have to
