| San Francisco | BART- on time? Posted: Sun April 6, 2008 11:15 AM UTC
Hi All!
Is BART running on time? I have to leave SF for Vancouver for a very early flight (7:25AM) I have checked in BART website that there is train run on 5AM. Can it be trusted? Someone told me SF has many up and down, so I was suggested to take supershuttle instead. Should I really take supershuttle? Thanks in advance. Rita |

Yes, normally it is on time. However, there are also times when things happen and the system gets delayed (and you never know). Bayporter or supershuttle (door to door shuttle) are alternative. I have used both BART and shuttle to the airport, and found that dragging a big suitcase over to BART station and having to sit on the train for 1 hour was a little too much, especially when I had to catch my flight. I usually opt for bayporter which is a little more expensive for peace of mind (it is quicker and they pick you up right at your door). The shuttle requires that you make a reservation in advance.

I would suggest the shuttle also. You might want to set your pick up at 4:30, as you probably will not be their only stop. Gary

Hi.
It takes about 30 minutes on BART to go from SF to the airport. I think you should be fine.I have found the system to be reliable. Super shuttle is also a good service and if you have a lot of suitcases I think this would be a better choice as ths is a door to door service. Traffic on weekdays starts very early in SF and even though you are heading away from the city it could always be a factor ( at this hour of the morning it should not be a problem ). In short, you'll be fine either way. Have a wonderful stay in SF! Andrea

Yes, for the most part, BART runs on time. If there are problems it usually happens later but at that hour you should be fine.
