Hi. I haven't stayed in any of these resorts but based on other's feedback, Fat Jimmy's is about a 2-minute walk away from the beach but is generally a good place to stay if you're not looking for anything luxurious.
Boracay Courtyard is a pension house with very basic amenities though guests here may use the swimming pool in La Carmela for free. Boracay courtyard is usually used by big groups / families. I think only La Carmela is in the beach front (However, I can't say I like its facade. it has a colorful plastic slide beside the pool that I consider an eyesore) I suggest you also check availability in other resorts/hotels since there are plenty in the area that may suite your needs depending on your preference. Enjoy your trip!

hi!
i'm not familiar with fat jimmy's. i've stayed at the courtyard & was impressed with the service. not to mention the rates -- they're very affordable! i think the owner of La Carmela & Courtyard is the same that's why Courtyard's guests have their breakfasts at La Carmela. Both are in Station 2, Carmela has a pool & the building's color's too bright for me. Courtyard's about a minute's walk from the beach & maybe 3 mins to Carmela hope this helps. clarice

La Carmela is geographically closer to station 3 than 2, whatever they may claim on their website. Check the reviews on tripadviser.com, which are mostly negative. There are much better budget hotels available than this!
Fat Jimmy's seems a nice enough hotel (I've heard no complaints) but the location is pretty dire - round the back of the wet market in the mall, near the busy polluted main road, noisy karaoke bars and trike parking area. Beware flooding after rain.

Don't stay in La Carmela. It's a shabby substandard hotel.
