I will be in Dublin for 5 days. Do you think it is a good deal?

It depends entirely on what you will be doing and how much you will use it! If you look at individual bus fares, you can see that the cost per individual trip is €1.05, more if outside zones 1-3, so you would have to work out how many trips you are likely to make and compare with cost of the rambler pass: http://www.dublinbus.ie/fares_and_tickets/daily.asp

I will be staying at Dublin City University, and mostly staying around that area. Not planning on traveling to much.

I say go for the Short Hop 3 or 7 day ticket. This includes Bus and the Dart which can take you to Howth, Malahide, and other points of interest.
Howth is a great place to go for lunch or dinner if you like seafood. An active fishing village, there are numerous great restaurants and seafood markets. Take some smoked salmon back to the City with, it is the best. Freshest seafood you will ever get. There are many places just 20 to 30 minutes by Dart from Dublin
