Transport from Phuket

Hi

We're staying in Kata and are then moving on to Khao Loak - what's the best way of getting here? Or should i say what are the options and rough cost?

Thanks, C

A transport costed about 1800 Baht with a regular taxi or one of the minibuses you can find everywhere (this is from March 08).
But: the cheapest option would be the public bus that drives between Phuket and Khao Lak.

Thanks for the info.
Is there a huge time / price difference between the bus and a taxi / minibus? No aversion to taking public transport at all but if it takes double the time then I'd probably pay for the taxi.

Cheers
C

I must confess, I never took the bus. Mostly because I do have some luggage which may be more an inconvenience. If I would have gone backpacker-like, I would have done it, though.
My impression was that the busses are really reliable.
