With the new silk street up and running, i read alot about the excellent shopping
but does it have shoes and dvds there? im going there in july, so im curious. |

Yes, you can find a lot of shoe at the basement but for DVDs you can go to Sanlitun near a Tongli.

I just got back from Beijing and found that Honqiao (also known as Pearl Market), Yaoshow, and Silk Market are pretty similiar. I see lots of shoes, clothes, purses, table cloths...but not much dvds. You can get all those dvds for cheap at the dvd stores. Most are probably low quality bootlegged dvds. Check out the market across from the Beijing Zoo on Zhizhimen, it is where the local shops and the prices are usually much lower.

Yes, i did a bit a research off your answer and i found out that Sanlitun is the best place to go
