Exchanging pounds in Malta

Hi, when we last went to Malta you could exchange uk pounds for local currency at a lot of local shops in Bugibba. Does any one know if it is still the same now that the Euro is adopted. Also does anybody know the exchange rate when changing sterling to Euro while there. Thanks

Euros are Euros throughout Europe the exchange rate should be the same whichever country you change in. At present it's about €1.26 for £1. A Euro is worth about 80 UK pence.

Why don't you just use an ATM?
You can get Euros straight out of your Bank Account.

Just a suggestion mind!

Thanks for reply. I know what you're saying but in the past we have found a better exchange rate when exchanging sterling abroad than doing it at home.

Thanks for reply, i do use ATM'S but i never know if you get the exchange rate for the country you are in or the rate for your own bank.
