Hi all,
Arriving in singapore Sunday 6th April, where could we find the best chilli crab for lunch?

Normally, chilli crab is best meant for a dinner affair since lunch is usually a rushed event compared to the more leisure pace for dinner.

For me, my favourite chilli crab is from the Jumbo Seafood (http://www.jumboseafood.com.sg) at East Coast Seafood Centre's branch. But others will swear by Long Beach (www.longbeachseafood.com.sg), No Signboard (http://www.nosignboardseafood.com.sg) and Palm Beach (http://www.palmbeachseafood.com.sg). All these restaurants are all particularly famous for their crabs.

The latest player is Seafood Paradise (http://www.seafoodparadise.com.sg), which just open their outlet at Singapore Flyer. Their menu is quite interesting but what they serve are actually a refreshingly different interpretation of the usual dishes. Not the place to go if you are looking for authentic chilli crab, but a nice place to go when you are sick of the usual stuff.

There are also many other famous ones such as Ban Leong Wah Hoe in Casuarina Road .

Besides Jumbo Seafood in East Coast, there is also a famous one in Ang Mo Kio: Mellben Seafoodwhere locals queue for an hour to taste the chili crab. You can get the details from my restaurant tips on my Singapore page.
