I had a friend that used luxurylink.com and found a really good package which suited her price range.
They have hotel stay packages and stuff. I hope this helps

Hi Train is a reliable and cheap transport. We took the train from Vienna to Prague, enjoyable trip which took 4.5 hours. We went Budapest to Vienna by Hydrofoil ferry, nice but expensive, the train is faster and much cheaper.

Bus could be a little cheaper, but you will have to contend with traffic.

Good Luck,
Mike

Both trains (visit www.bahn.de for schedules; tickets can be bought in Budapest, but allow time to do it!), and buses (www.volanbusz.hu) are okay and are reasonably priced.

You may also check Student Agency at
http://www.studentagency.cz/index.en.html

Departs from Nepliget metro station, but not from the bus terminal. You have to exit the metro station and take the rightmost exit of the pedestrian underpass. There, walk along the wide road (with the tram tracks on it) to the first traffic lights. Don't cross anywhere, but walk a bit to the right until you see either a group of other passengers gathering just opposite the Planetarium building, or the yellow bus.

I recommend you to check out this site.
You can travel from Budapest to Prague only for 3,700 Ft (15 euro).
http://www.orangeways.com/en

When I traveled last year, I couldn't purchase the ticket on the net
and had to visit a travel agency mentioned on the site.
It didn't bother me much though.
I don't know how it works now.

Checking previous comments on Orangeways, you'll see there were certain problems concerning their services, incl. running late, no bus coming at all or bus stops hard to find. However, it's understandable that it's usually complaints and warnings that appear, rather than positive evaluations. (eg. if a bus is on time, that's just usual, if it's late or too early to catch it, that's something to talk about)

The train is probably your best bet. I took it last year. I think it took 7 seven hours but it's comfortable and price range isn't too high.
