My husband and I will be cruising the Mediterranean in May and will be stopping from 7am to 1pm in Palma de Mallorca. We would prefer to "freelance" rather than sign up for the cruise ship tours. What would you suggest? What are the "must sees" which we could gently visit while spending time strolling and enjoying the city with plenty of time for a non-touristy lunch? Oh! And does anyone have recommendations for a lovely lunch? Thanks! Marilyn

There is plenty to do within walking distance of the pier. We "freelanced" on our cruise and did some research before we left on what is within walking distance that we wanted to see. When we got hungry we just found a place that looked good and grabbed something.

You've got loads of time in Palma. The town is pretty small and there are some street entertainers there for you to see. A coach tour would not be worth the money in my opinion. I would do the same. Have fun Bal
