How do we get from the main train station in Munich to the Ibis Muenchen Parkstadt Schwabing using the train system in Munich?

You could take the S-bahn at Hauptbahnhof, change at Marienplatz,take another U-bahn until you reach the stop called Alte Heide. Then it is a short walk to the Ibis hotel.
Or take the U-bahn at Hauptbahnhof, change at Sendlingertor, then another U-bahn until you reach the stop called Alte Heide.

It may be easier if you know the names and directions of the S/U-bahn, but then you have to know what time to travel (there are different ones you can use). Try to fill in your station of departure and arrival, then the date and time you want to travel.

On the right side you will find a box called "fahrplanauskunft", first type where you want to depart from (muenchen, and then hauptbahnhof), and then where you want to go ( in this case muenchen, alte heide). The next question is when you want to leave for that destination.
