State of Queensland Britz Caravans
Posted: Thu April 3, 2008 01:59 PM UTC
Has anyone used Britz Caravans to travel in Queensland? My husband and I are planning on renting one in Cairns and driving down the coast to Brisbane. If not Britz, any other suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I once made a strange experience with Britz and other companies in Perth, and it should not be different in Queensland and save you a lot of money.

We booked with Backpacker Campervans

http://www.backpackercampervans.com.au/cheap-campervans/394/Australia+Home.aspx

and got a Britz van. The only difference was the price!

Have a look at this website and compare the prices.

Me again!

I should have added that unless you are particularly interested in campervans, I think it won't cost any more to rent a small car and stay in motels. I mean you are going to pay $25-30 for your site in a caravan park, extra petrol/diesel cost plus the extra cost of the van vs a car. You can rent a car and stay in motels all the way down for about $150 per day , so do the sums!

Thanks for the links and the advice... I hadn't really thought about the car-motel option. I'll check it out and compare caravan companies!

Good suggestion about the car John - thumbs up! Actually it doesn't cost much more to buy a tent & blow up mattress and stay in Caravan Parks along the way. Here's a good site -
www.big4.com.au

Or another alternative is to hire a decked out Kombie Van -
www.wickedcampers.com.au

Have fun! Cheers, Ann :o)
