Hey,

Could someone please let me know of a good coach company operating between Delhi and Jalhandar, Punjab. I'm arriving at 8.40am on the train from Bombay and have no idea of the location of the bus stands as this will be my first time in Delhi.

It may help you in finding the bus connection to Jalhandar.
There you may choice one good good company to carry you. Certainly this is not a good help oneself but is the best I can do for you.

Would the train be any good? I find Indian train travel easy, cheap and reliable (when compared to UK trains, so perhaps that doesn't say much!). They go to Jalandhar from all the Delhi stations, however, there's one at 10:30 from H Nizamuddin (2925 Paschim Express according to the website).

The best way is by the daily Shatabdi Express, which is the fastest and most comfortable way of getting from Delhi to Jalandhar.

It runs twice a day at 7:20 am and 16:35 pm. Total journey time : 5 hours.
Departure station: New Delhi (code: NDLS)
Arrival Jalandhar City (JUC)

Fare is about Rs 485 (approx)for First Class AC Chair and Rs 980 (approx) for Executive Class, which has wide, extremely comfortable 2 each side seating.
Both fares include meals and drinks and tea/coffee/, all very decent. There are place style pull out tables for eating.
