Hi,
This site give a list of all the market open on Sunday. Beware some are quite a distance from the city and you do not say where you are staying or for how long. http://www.you.com.au/market/market-sydney-sunday.htm Other shops i.e department stores, supermarkets, variety stores are open from 10:00am to 4:00pm I can recommend a company that does tours of the northern beaches etc, their site is http://www.barrenjoeytours.com.au/ good luck

Yes the shops are open on Sundays, however this is the day they let the Kangaroos out on the streets for exercise so you may need to avoid them.
On the serious side Paddys markets in Haymarket (near central station) are open every day, but sell souveneirs, new clothing etc. For handicrafts, art, jewelery and second hand clothing there are nice markets on Sundays at Bondi Beach at Bondi Primary School up the north end of the beach. Enjoy your stay.

Thanks for your reply.
I'll be in Sydney on 18 May to 20 May. I'll do up an itinerary and post here soon.

Sydney is bustling even on Sundays so no worries mate.
For day tours- check these sites: www.aatkingscom.au or www.tigercoachtours.com.au If your hotel is in the city of Sydney itself, just go to Darling Harbour and from there you will be near shopping, dining, museums, etc. Most shops are open for tourist there especially Chinatown too. You might even want to go on a day cruise. Enjoy your trip!

Yes, that Captain Cook dinner (or lunch) cruise on the Sydney 2000 is really enjoyable. You have your choice of several categories of dining, but I'd go for the top-end one. The food was pretty good, and the commentary very enjoyable, although I would admit I was in one of the private dining rooms for functions.

I can highly recommend Captain Cook Marianne. We do Captain Cook here in Perth as well. They really know how to put on a good smorgasboard and all drinks are included in the price. Makes for a wonderful lunch/dinner/wine cruise etc :o)

I would like to include a day trip to Port Stephens where my daughter can see dolphin at Nelson Bay. Can we do it in a day? Which tour company can you recommend?

On sundays you can go to the market in the Rocks. They have some really nice and interesting items. I bought a nice necklace and they have good food items as well.
