I would like to visit my ancestors' home which is listed on a US census document as Badenbach. I have found only two references to Badenbach on the entire worldwide web and cannot locate it on any German map. But Bardenbach is a close match. Does anyone know if these are one and the same? Another census shows Trier as the hometown. Is Bardenbach part of the Trier region? Thanks for your help.

Bardenbach belongs today to the town of Wadern in the state Saarland. Between Trier and Saarbrücken.
http://www.wadern.de/bardenbach.html Bardenbach was ones part of the ecclesiastical principality of Trier. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archbishopric_of_Trier The coat of arms of Trier (red cross on a silver background) is still in the coat of arms of Bardenbach. http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bild:Bardenbach.PNG I could also only find the surname "Badenbach". The other hits I found were spelling mistakes of Warden-Bardenbach as I could see from the context.
