Riomaggiore Which town?
Posted: Wed April 2, 2008 07:34 PM UTC
A friend and I are visiting Cinque Terre from a Thursday to a Saturday in May. Which town should we stay in? We're 27, so we're hoping for a place that is beautiful with local flavor, and may have a small nightlife scene. We are not expecting to do any major partying, but we'd like to find something to do in the evenings. Which town would be best?

Thank you!

Monteresso is the most vibrant of the five towns, though for night life you might want to consider taking the commuter train into La Spezia, which is the next stop after Riomaggiore heading south. There is a section of town there that is dedicated to nightlife, I was surprised by the amount of activity and there were lots of locals which made it fun. You can refer to my La Spezia page for more info.

Thanks so much, maybe I'll try to hit up La Spezia. It sounds perfect. I love trying non-touristy places that are still vibrant and fun.
